Do you ever find yourself fantasizing about leisurely driving a sleek Tesla along the road? Believe me, I know what it’s like. Believe it or not, you have company. Many of us have been captivated by those sleek vehicles, fantasizing about the day when we may call ourselves Only Used Tesla owners. It can feel like juggling burning torches while riding a unicycle trying to balance that dream with a budget for a secondhand car.
So, when money is tight, why not have a Tesla? To begin with, there is the electric motor’s almost musical accompaniment. Put the rumble of gas engines in the past; driving a Tesla is like riding on air; the ride is so smooth you might as well be cheating. Not to mention the exhilarating surge that occurs as you press down on the accelerator. Without the shrieking children and expensive trinkets, it’s just like going on a roller coaster ride every day.
I have a tale to tell you. A used Tesla Model S was acquired last year by my friend Joe, who loves cheese but dislikes commitments. He spent as much as he had planned on spending on that ugly SUV. What sets it apart? He disappeared as quickly as a cat in water from gas stations. The management of Joe’s neighborhood gas station began to wonder if he had relocated when he made charging at home his new normal.
Then there is the technology. Here we are discussing an automobile that functions essentially as a mobile phone in motion. Even in 2015, Teslas may have more technological trickery than the most recent gas-powered vehicles. It’s almost as if Elon himself had magically touched it.
The topic of upkeep may be puzzling to you. And now for the twist: Teslas are simpler and less complicated. Regular oil changes are not included. Never again will you have problems with your exhaust system. All it takes is the occasional tickle from a reliable mechanic. You can relax and enjoy a new series binge-watching while your friend spends his weekends beneath his car.
Keeping costs low doesn’t imply sacrificing quality. If you’re looking for a secondhand Tesla that won’t break the bank or your heart, there are plenty of options. Consequently, perhaps it’s time to abandon gasoline fantasies in favor of electric ones. The answer is unclear. From trips to the supermarket to cross-country adventures, you may become the friend everyone wants to hop in a car with.
Are you prepared to go electric?
